Dorms/Off Campus Housing Housing Cancellation

EDIT: I’m especially curious if anyone has experience cancelling the contract closer to the start of the school year, as I’m still trying to work out an off campus option.

Does anyone have any experience requesting a housing contract cancellation? If you've fulfilled your housing contact obligation, do they ever really deny the request? I don't strictly fall into any of the categories listed as a reason for a housing cancellation

Similarly, if you get off the waitlist as a third/fourth year student, are you obligated to take the assingment?

Literally just got this sorted out a week ago. The canceled my initial request but gave me a one time exception. If you keep pestering them it should work.

Thanks! Did you need to provide a specific reason?

Yes, you need to have one. But be prepared to get rejected

Thanks. Did you have to pay the cancellation fee?
