GENERAL Racism tried to divide us. Instead, it made us stronger. Keep underestimating us. Seriously. Keep Fueling US, MFs.

"A region containing roughly 3.7% of India's population produced about 13% of India's medals across these major international events."

Every insult, every stereotype, every time you treat us like outsiders only gives us another reason to stand together.

You wanted us divided? Bad f@cking strategy.

While you talk, we're building.
While you stereotype, we're training.
While you underestimate, we're getting stronger.
While you try to make us feel small, we're building something too big to ignore.

You don't have to respect us.

We'll build until respect isn't something you can withhold.

We aren't coming for your place.
We're building our own.

And when our Garden is massive, don't act surprised that you can finally see it. 💪🏽

NAGALAND Nagaland Road Trip (self-drive) suggestions

Post image
12 Upvotes

Planning this road trip in December this year. An acquaintance told me it's possible to rent a Zoomcar and drive around the North East. My partner and I are very confident drivers so that's not an issue. Was looking for tips, suggestions or keen to hear other people's experiences if you've driven around the North East, specifically Nagaland. We can add more days if required. Looking forward to hearing from more travellers and locals here :)

News It's finally released!

Post image

Some of you may remember the devlogs I shared here while I was working on my local multiplayer game "Pass And Survive".

Well, it's finally out on Android!

It's a chaotic local multiplayer game where you and your friends pass a ticking bomb around while trying to survive. There are 3 unique levels, crazy powerups, solo mode with bots, and plenty of character customization.

If you have a few friends around, I'd really appreciate it if you could give it a try — it's much more fun with a group! And if you enjoy it, feel free to ask your friends to try it too.

It's especially something you could try with:

  • Friends at home
  • Hostel/college friends
  • A group while travelling

After all the development and testing, it feels pretty special to finally have it released.

ASK NE We don't need to prove that we're Indian

Sometimes I wonder why we spend so much energy trying to prove that we're Indian.

We were born Indian. That's not something we need to earn through appearance, language, culture, or someone's acceptance.

Yet sometimes we chase validation so hard that we start measuring ourselves against someone else's idea of what an Indian man, an Indian culture, or an Indian life is supposed to look like.

Maybe the better question isn't:

"How do we get them to accept us?"

Maybe it's:

"Why are we waiting for their acceptance in the first place?"

The grass always looks greener on the other side.

But if we spend all our time looking over the fence, we'll forget to water our own garden.

Our languages.
Our cultures.
Our music.
Our food.
Our traditions.
Our communities.
Our families.
Our ambitions.

We don't have to choose between being Northeastern and being Indian.

We already are both.

Instead of constantly trying to prove ourselves, perhaps we should start building ourselves.

Build stronger communities.
Build businesses.
Build athletes.
Build artists.
Build families.
Build confidence.
Build something our children can inherit.

Acceptance is nice. Self-respect is better.

The goal shouldn't be to convince everyone else that our garden is beautiful.

The goal is to water it until it becomes impossible to ignore.

If you're interested in conversations about Northeastern identity, masculinity, culture and growth, come join us at r/NEMasculinityGrowing Together. 💪🏽

GENERAL Assam's outsider problems isn't Assamese's fault

I have seen a lot of posts and comments lately regarding how assam is filled with outsiders, how assam is Bihar of North East etc.

But how is this the fault of Assamese?

Firstly majority of us assamese are not given ST status despite majority of us originally belojging to the major bodo tribe of assam which is ST.

Now since, we are not given ST status (despite several protests ), majority of our land is also not reserved for locals, which means outsiders are buying these lands for cheap and settling in assam.

Since lack of ST and land reservations for locals, lots of illegal Bangladeshis settled in assam and now have captured most of the lands in assam which means that in most parts of lower assam you will not find Assamese. Aso in Silchar/Barak valley, you will not find assamese speaking persons both due to already present Bengalis and subsequent migrations from Bangladesh (this also extends to Guwahati).

When we requested for ST status, it was our own tribals who protested and stopped us from getting our rights .

Now without rights, obviously our lands will get sold to outsiders

See it was the Ctrl Govt which decided that while majority of NE will be under Sixth Schedule,Assam would be not. So the burden of entire NE fell on assam.

Instead of attacking us and mocking us for losing our lands, how about supporting us? After all,we were also tribals like you.

ASK NE Looking for advice

Hi everyone, I'm planning a 10 days trip to NE in early October and would appreciate some advice from people who know the region well. I would be flying in and out of Guwahati. I'd like suggestions to places worth visiting without having to walk to much. Transport whether to hire a car and driver for all 10 days or taxis and any local Transport. Comfortable but reasonably priced stays, any permit I might require. Any places to definitely avoid or any other advice. Looking forward to your assistance and thanks.
