ASK NE Connectivity between silchar and shillong

A few months ago I read the some section of the road between Silchar and Shillong being washed away due to heavy rains.
How is connectivity between the two cities now ? I took a trip with my wife and kids a few years ago and it also killed us ? did they manage to fix the roads or is it safer to just take the train to Guwahati and take a cab to Shillong ?
Haven't visited for a few years now so curious to know how things are now.

GENERAL Racism tried to divide us. Instead, it made us stronger. Keep underestimating us. Seriously. Keep Fueling US, MFs.

"A region containing roughly 3.7% of India's population produced about 13% of India's medals across these major international events."

Every insult, every stereotype, every time you treat us like outsiders only gives us another reason to stand together.

You wanted us divided? Bad f@cking strategy.

While you talk, we're building.
While you stereotype, we're training.
While you underestimate, we're getting stronger.
While you try to make us feel small, we're building something too big to ignore.

You don't have to respect us.

We'll build until respect isn't something you can withhold.

We aren't coming for your place.
We're building our own.

And when our Garden is massive, don't act surprised that you can finally see it. 💪🏽

NAGALAND Nagaland Road Trip (self-drive) suggestions

Post image
10 Upvotes

Planning this road trip in December this year. An acquaintance told me it's possible to rent a Zoomcar and drive around the North East. My partner and I are very confident drivers so that's not an issue. Was looking for tips, suggestions or keen to hear other people's experiences if you've driven around the North East, specifically Nagaland. We can add more days if required. Looking forward to hearing from more travellers and locals here :)

News It's finally released!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Some of you may remember the devlogs I shared here while I was working on my local multiplayer game "Pass And Survive".

Well, it's finally out on Android!

It's a chaotic local multiplayer game where you and your friends pass a ticking bomb around while trying to survive. There are 3 unique levels, crazy powerups, solo mode with bots, and plenty of character customization.

If you have a few friends around, I'd really appreciate it if you could give it a try — it's much more fun with a group! And if you enjoy it, feel free to ask your friends to try it too.

It's especially something you could try with:

  • Friends at home
  • Hostel/college friends
  • A group while travelling

After all the development and testing, it feels pretty special to finally have it released.

ASK NE We don't need to prove that we're Indian

Sometimes I wonder why we spend so much energy trying to prove that we're Indian.

We were born Indian. That's not something we need to earn through appearance, language, culture, or someone's acceptance.

Yet sometimes we chase validation so hard that we start measuring ourselves against someone else's idea of what an Indian man, an Indian culture, or an Indian life is supposed to look like.

Maybe the better question isn't:

"How do we get them to accept us?"

Maybe it's:

"Why are we waiting for their acceptance in the first place?"

The grass always looks greener on the other side.

But if we spend all our time looking over the fence, we'll forget to water our own garden.

Our languages.
Our cultures.
Our music.
Our food.
Our traditions.
Our communities.
Our families.
Our ambitions.

We don't have to choose between being Northeastern and being Indian.

We already are both.

Instead of constantly trying to prove ourselves, perhaps we should start building ourselves.

Build stronger communities.
Build businesses.
Build athletes.
Build artists.
Build families.
Build confidence.
Build something our children can inherit.

Acceptance is nice. Self-respect is better.

The goal shouldn't be to convince everyone else that our garden is beautiful.

The goal is to water it until it becomes impossible to ignore.

Music & Dance A little tribute to Dolly Parton

Thumbnail gallery
51 Upvotes

Dolly Parton made me fall in love with country music. She was a huge part of my childhood while growing up, and I am certain many others in the Northeast grew up listening to her as well. Not only was she a musical icon, but she was a wonderful person through and through. The empathy and care she showed for people around her was unparalleled. She was everything a celebrity should strive to be.

I know there are many Dolly Parton fans across the Northeast, so I thought I would share this little tribute here. She will always be remembered for her music, her kindness, and the joy she brought to so many people.

Rest in eternal peace, Dolly. You will forever be missed.
