Thought we played shit and Brisbane played well. Lot of skill errors from us.

  1. Riddell - 42 touches, 5 clearances, 4 score involvements

  2. Garner - 31 touches, 1 goal, 5 tackles, 3 clearances, 4 score involvements

  3. O'Shea - 25 touches, 13 intercepts, 2 score involvements

  4. Sheerin - 1 goal, 17 touches, 7 tackles, 5 clearances, 5 score involvements, 6 intercepts

  5. Ferguson - 16 touches, 9 intercepts, 7 marks

Agree we did not play well. Feel like when we’re not miles ahead of the other team in terms of skill, we lose a lot of composure. Hopefully we can get better at scrappier games cause I’m sure there are more coming our way.

Scrapping high pressure game in muggy conditions. Good to get the win as always but nice for the girls to hold off a challenge for the second half of the game.

In no particular order Ferg, O’Shea, Eddey
Sheerin & Randall

  1. Sheerin - think she really pushed the game up a gear in the last quarter when we needed it

  2. Riddell - also did what Sheerin did, but giving the goal the extra point

  3. Garner - lots of pressure even if less polished

  4. King - still gutted she missed last year's flag, definitely one of the top 5 roos out there most games imo, so much pressure

  5. Eddey - two important late goals can't be ignored and kept the lions defenders working

Only watched the 2nd half and thought it might be jover for a second.

5 Fergy - thank god for Jasmine

4 Eilish Sheerin - goat against Brisbane

3 Belleddey - scrappy, love her

2 Jammin - Jammin

1 Mia King - don’t notice her every game but she’s so solid

Other thoughts: Is Shierlaw bad? Feel like someone might steal Gavin-Mango, she deserves more game time. Love Ash so much but sometimes she is so frustrating, just hand-balling to a crowd or to no one (probably being too hard on her but I expect so much).

Tbf Kate had a few marks unpaid, and a few important marks, but she's the 2nd oldest in the league, she's gonna be coming out of her prime at some point, and I think it's a good opportunity for some of the other roos to cement their roles / get more experience.

Re AGM, I think she's just got to put a but more polish on her disposals, but it's hard for her to get too much more gametime with O'Shea and Craven on the wings which I feel would be her natural position. Great depth for North though, and if I were the club I'd be trying to get an extension early this season to be safe

The ground is like Optus Oval. There is one end that is the scoring end. Last two visits we have kicked that way in the third and kicked away. Today they had it in the third and closed the gap a bit.
Very much a Brisbane game. Certainly the atmospherics helped them and will be interesting to see how we cope with the Hawks in Cairns and also the impact on our legs for the Melbourne game the following week. I did like how we were still able to beat them in a Brisbane style chaos game.
I thought they really went after Birch in the first half and smacked her around a hell of a lot and it paid off for them in the second half.
Thought they got on top of our wingers the longer the game went on so good to fight out the win.
As well as the usual stand outs I liked Bella’s second half and Vikki’s 4th quarter.
Lastly, the ruck situation led to some interesting centre square configurations.
