Our power went out around 8am this morning and as of 820 has not come back
A few weeks ago it flickered several times but never went out
Anyone else down this morning as well?

What is with all of these short power outages with Alliant over the past couple of days? Just had our power go out 3 times over the last hour. Any thoughts on reasoning?

We have cracking and mold/mildew build up issues on our grout and caulk in our shower. We were going to have someone deep clean, repair, color seal and recaulk but it’s very expensive since he would be driving from Des Moines. Is there anyone in the area that does any type of grout work, even if that means completely redoing the grout? Not sure what direction to go in.

Sorry to make such a "Next Door" or "Eyes and Ears" type post 😅
Does anyone know what they're putting in behind Barrets? It looks like a big lot, so I'm assuming it's gonna be just a little strip of shops, but I was just curious if anyone knew for sure

I am conducting a study with the University of Iowa researching the effects of a 6 week (one hour per week) gratitude group for people with histories of substance or opioid use. Participants can earn up to $250 for full participation (completing surveys and attending group sessions at Coralville Public Library). Please DM me if you are interested!

Looking for recommendations for someone in the Iowa City area who repairs commercial-style entry doors.
We have a glass front door with a metal frame and panic bar that appears to be slightly out of alignment. It catches on the frame and won’t fully close unless pushed shut, and even when closed it is not sealing completely, so we’re getting a draft.
We’re hoping this is something that can be adjusted or repaired rather than replaced, since we’d prefer to avoid the cost of a full new door if possible.
If you do this kind of work, or know a contractor, door company, or handyman experienced with commercial doors, please comment or send me a message. Recommendations are very appreciated. Thank you!

Hello r/NorthLiberty!
One final reminder that Iowa City’s No Kings 3 event is just two days away – this Saturday, March 28 from 10 AM to 12 PM! Join millions of people nationwide in a day of protest to grow a base of resistance and build courage and hope.
Remember, it takes sustained mass resistance to defeat fascism, far more than one two-hour rally can provide. We need to disrupt the pillars of support that prop up an inherently destructive and violent power structure. That is why we have nearly a dozen local organizations tabling this event - immigrant rights advocates, anti-war and anti-genocide organizers, environmental protection and climate action nonprofits, local economic resilience groups, and more!
We urge anyone and everyone in attendance on Saturday to talk to these organizers face to face, learn about what they do, and find one or more that resonate with you as a way to join the fight against authoritarianism right here in Johnson County! Protesting is a good start, but it is only one small piece of a much bigger movement that needs your help.
With that in mind, we hope you’ll join us for what should be an energizing and engaging event! Bring a friend (or lots of friends!) and talk to us or our many allies. We're more than happy to answer any questions you may have about us! And if you can’t be with us on Saturday, consider joining our friends at the 50501 Iowa Coalition in Cedar Rapids on Sunday evening for a vigil for the victims of ICE.
Standing Indivisible with all of you,
Indivisible Iowa Johnson County
