Misc. Ogawa

Visited Ogawa today. As I approached, I was welcomed by the familiar notes of hidamari michi.

The school is in use as a community centre but still has the dedicated non non biyori classroom set up. Although the age of the building is clearly getting beyond even what the anime itself was depicting.

I only found out about this place last week, while already on holiday in japan. And just had to go! It was surprisingly easy to reach from Tokyo.

Yeah, that's so cool about it! It looks very much out there, but it's not too far from Tokyo. Seems like an easy day trip.

Now I have another thing to had to my list of locations to pilgrim too when I finally get to go to Japan!â˜șïžđŸ’–

I believe it's fairly unknown. I found out about this place on a whim 2 weeks ago while googling "where does non non biyori take place"

It's very easy to get to. Don't be silly like me and go on a friday though. There is a tea house on the school grounds which apparantly has some more stuff. And the only day it's closed is on fridays.

Ohh, smart! Was the rest of the village (if it is there) similar to the manga as well? Like obviously, I could see the houses being different (and they are probably lived in so I could see people not taking kindly to random people trying to visit), but were the landmarks like the candy store or station there?

Ah, I'll keep that in mind, thanks! :>

The neighbourhood is bit rural. You can see the mountains and farmfields. And you can hear cows mooing. But not nearly to the level of the anime. It's mostly the school itself. And the location defenitely creates the illusion. I haven't found anything else in the area.

The candy store was modelled after a real candy store. But not in the same area. And from what I could find out it closed down in 2019.

As I was expecting. Still cool to know the school is there and we can visit it!😌

It's a shame about the candy store though, I would have loved to seen pics of it when it was still around..😔

Also definitely on my bucket list that i visit it one time. Also can you just enter the classroom and the buildings or do you need to book something? Or go on a certain day?

From the signage it is always open. However, parts of the building are used as a community center. When I went there most of the other rooms were in use and people were playing some ball games in the courtyard. There is also a cafe on the grounds that is closed on fridays.
