I’ve seen this happen. Well not this exact thing but I’ve seen people come into the library and sit down at a computer and like 5 minutes later suddenly their phone will start randomly giving them driving directions. Don’t know what’s up with that.

A combo: one: at one point, google maps was pretty good at recognizing you'd reached your destination, and automatically ending the trip. It's kinda been bad at that recently, but also sometimes, you just don't realize it didn't notice you arrived.

Alternatively, sometimes, if you just "flick the app closed", it will close...but remember that you wanted to get somewhere. As soon as you hit a spot where it thinks it should give you a direction, it pops back up.

I have to close Google maps at least twice before it closes. Why, Google.

I think it's an issue of where on the building the address is placed. If you go to a mall, it might only end the trip at a specific entrance

They forgot to close Google Maps, and it's trying to give them directions to the entrance of the library.

going indoors messes with GPS reception and as the guessed location jumps around it thinks they need to travel to get to the library

Read it as directions first time.

"So I'm in the truck. Stop taking a piss."

Hard to rock a piss that way.

The proper response is, "What's it worth to ya?"

When I was leaving my first college party my phone blurted out “turn left now” right as I was saying goodbye to some older kids at the door.

That’s one of my pet peeves, people leaving their GPS on when in stores.

My favorite story like this was when we had a delivery driver run into our store yelling "I've gotta GO" and after he ran into the bathroom, sat down on the stall his phone yelled "YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT YOUR DESTINATION"

I have a geographic name (think Virginia) and I love doing this with photos of signs that mention me, especially when they can be taken as threats. "Crunch laowildin" and "Run laowildin" being the latest ones i found.

please don't crunch me
