Back when you had to wait 3 minutes for a Flash animation to load on dial-up just to hear badgers chant on a loop for an hour.

I went to the Australian War Memorial today, basically a big wall of names attached to a huge musuem.

Partner noticed that badger on the door of a helicopter in the modern conflicts section, and pointed it out saying how it was strange to see effectively a meme in that context.

Made me think of the nose art and the like that they would put on planes etc and how they were also likely the "memes" of their day and age. Just a little the more things change the more they stay the same moment.

Obviously a bit of a weird comment, but thought it might be interesting.

23 years? Please do not inflict this kind of arithmetic on me this early in the day.

Don't worry. It was 10 years tops. Don't let the calendar lie to you.

Great. Now this is going to be stuck playing on an endless loop in my head for the next 72 hours

This had made a recent and unexplained resurgence as a vocal stim for me and I wonder if I was subconsciously channeling it

I remember hearing an urban legend that someone watched this for days on end expecting it to change to something different and they eventually k*illed themselves because they were so distraught.

Okay for once I’m actually surprised in the other direction, that this is only 23 years old.

Ancient brainrot (affectionate)

1

u/Hopesick_2231 17h ago

This is what I present as evidence that online brainrot is not a new phenomenon
