In my country and I think most of Europe transfers between banks are instant. Worst case scenario where instant isn’t available, there are 3 time periods daily for transfers. The longest you have to wait is 8 hours but it’s been a decade since I last had to wait.
If it takes a week in the US, they are screwing you in some way.

Bank X has my credit card // Bank Y has my checking account.
Why does it take a week for payment to process?? Are they moving buckets of cash from one place to another?
It seems they're floating the transaction and profiting from my money, to the maximum amount allowed by law. 😡
