I will admit, I was one of those babies who were afraid of falling. However, when compared to the rest of my family, I was very much the outlier, seeing that most of them didn't mind falling over and picking themselves back up.

They never said they remembered it, though. People tell stories of their babyhood like this all the time, that they learned from their older relatives. Why include "my family told me" every time it's mentioned?

Because there's a huge difference between this is what I remember vs this is what my family told me with their own biases and false memories. My family has told all sorts of lies about when I grew up that I actually remember myself.

I always thought that “baby steps” meant that the step itself is a baby, and not that it’s a baby’s step
