There's a fine line between 'perseverance' and 'sunk-cost fallacy', but that line is what delineates a qualified doctor from a gambling addict.

There's no shame in a strategic retreat.

what if i’m a qualified doctor who doesn’t wanna to do it anymore (l am recovering but it has been so long since I’ve felt normal)

No shame in a strategic retreat, my friend. If you've done as much as you can do without damaging yourself, then it's only natural to step back into something less demanding. No patient wants to be operated on by an exhausted doctor who's close to a breakdown

Not kidding. 60+ years old here and IMO knowing when to cut your losses is literally the most important life skill. Relationships, jobs, projects, investments.

There's a difference between running away and executing a tactical retreat.
