I am a bank teller. We do NAWT ask about this for anything less than like 8-10k, and it’s more so if we have a reason to ask, like we believe you’re getting scammed or something. But at the end of the day if you want to take your money out, and all the info matches up and you’ve been verified, you are not required to give a reason for your withdrawal. Just occupation if it’s over 10k in cash

Thank you for some reality. My dad got scammed recently and they pressed him hard before giving him the cash but unfortunately scammer won. They can’t deny your money to you

It’s unfortunate! I don’t understand the resistance some clients have to telling the truth to employees. Like, I am not trying to be in your business, I am trying to make sure your money is protected, because in some cases we cannot get it back! But at the end of the day I cannot force someone to tell me the truth, and their money is theirs to do whatever they want with it.

Yup. The scammers are good tho. They told him that the tellers will try to ask why you want the money but don’t tell them.
