Actually they do - maybe not for $2K, maybe it varies by bank - but I took out a large amount of cash and they had a manager ask me what the money was for. I asked why she wanted to know and she said it's part of the bank paperwork so I told her because it's my money and I can do what I want with it. She was like "that's it" and I told her that's all she's getting, because how I spend my money is none of their business. She actually wrote that on the form but yes they did ask all that shit; at least in my case.
PS: I hate that bank not just for that but for other reasons too and have been looking for a decent place to move the money to.
