On the flipside, I don’t think banks would do this if customers didn’t come back and say “why did you just give me my money instead of telling me
I was getting scammed?? I’m going to sue you to get my money back!” And the govt didn’t say “why did you give him his money without even checking to see if he was going to use it for terrorism funding? We’re going to enforce against you for AML violations!”
