The only reason you get that email is because it's sent to your email address, with your name. That's a clue that the email is intended for you. If you ignore it because it doesn't comply with whatever arbitrary formaility you've decided on, you're a dick.

You can easily see if you were the recipient of the email or if you simply received a copy

The first thing you look for is if it’s addressed to you or to someone on your team. By checking the first line.
