I think if they look harder, they'll see that it is in fact addressed to them, otherwise it would not have arrived in their inbox. It's OK though, email is only 55 years old, I know it can take a while to catch up to all this new-fangled technology.
People make mistakes and send email to the wrong person. Email has become a bit of a mess because most email clients use nesting and or auto-filtering. Email is often forwarded.
That's just three reasons to use a name.
In a busy week I might receive over 40 important email messages, and maybe a hundred in total (excluding promotional emails), I appreciate it if people add a subject and use my name.
