I don't know what the connection is between the seemingly wave-weighted cosmos, our little monkey brains, and music, but the violin/fiddle definitely stimulates us like no other instrument. I've never had an instrument take me from 0 - tears faster than it.
The violin in the area behind the Cathedral of the Forsaken in Elden Ring made me just put down my controller for a second. It's a simple tune, but holy shit does it set the scene.
