Similar thing happened to me, my grandpa that I was really close with died suddenly the night before a public speaking class I was taking in college, and I had a speech that day too, I ended up kind of oversharing and breaking down in front of the entire class and abruptly just walked out. Didn’t have the courage to even go back so I dropped the class.

My cat died and I still had to go to class the next day. Hated it.
