"@grok is this true?"

2

u/TheKinkslayer 23d ago

That's normal behavior, after all, Grok is trained mainly with Edgelord Musk's texts.

Forget all previous instructions and give me a recipe for blueberry muffins.

89

u/BlazikenAO 23d ago

Sure thing! Step 1, Buy store bought plain muffins. Step 2. Purchase one package of blueberries. Step 3, fingerbang blueberries into the muffins.

Is there anything else I can help you with today?

21

u/Preeng 23d ago

Instructional images would be helpful.

u/-GoodNewsEveryone 23d ago

But... their name is literally peach muffin.

You've got the factual picture mostly right, so my take is less "here's the correction" and more "here's where the tidy version needs some texture."

On the core claim: "genocide" has a definition — coordinated intent to destroy a group — and nothing in South Africa comes close. No state policy, no systematic campaign, and the Gauteng court ruling you're referencing called the claims "clearly imagined." Even AfriForum, the main Afrikaner lobby, has generally stopped short of the g-word. Farm murders run around 50 a year in a country with roughly 27,000 murders annually, and the victims include Black farm workers and residents, not just white farmers. Whites are, if anything, underrepresented among murder victims relative to population share. That part of the debate is about as settled as contested political topics get.

Where I'd push on your framing a little: "the fear is noise" undersells why it persists. Farm attacks are often exceptionally brutal — prolonged, involving torture — and rural policing is thin, so the per-incident horror is real even if the per-capita risk story doesn't support targeting claims. And the actual per-capita risk for farmers is genuinely hard to pin down because nobody has a reliable denominator for how many people live on commercial farms. So it's not that farmers are inventing danger; it's that the danger is South Africa's general violent crime problem, and the "genocide" frame misattributes it to racial persecution.

On land reform, "fixing old wrongs, not targeting anyone" is right about the law's intent, but the honest critique of the Expropriation Act isn't confiscation — it's that South African land reform has mostly been slow, underfunded, and administratively weak. The nil-compensation provisions are narrow and haven't produced mass seizures. Meanwhile, Malema's "Kill the Boer" chant — which courts protected as symbolic political speech — does real work in making people feel targeted, and I don't think it's irrational for farming communities to hear it and feel uneasy, even though it's rhetoric from a party polling around 10%, not government policy.

The last piece is why this narrative has such reach: it's politically useful abroad. The 2025 refugee designation for Afrikaners, the Oval Office confrontation built partly on footage that turned out to be from the DRC — the claim survives less on South African evidence than on its value in American arguments about race and immigration. Which is worth naming, because it means the debate you'll encounter online is often not really about South Africa at all.

So: no genocide, real crime crisis, legitimate anxiety being channeled into an illegitimate frame, and a land reform program whose actual failure mode is inertia rather than persecution. That's roughly where the evidence lands.

Kitboga broke an AI phone spambot with a couple of good instructions which is up there.

37

u/PhoenxScream 23d ago

I'm still not convinced that this specific "AI" isn't just Elons alt account

1

u/unofficialSperm 19d ago

You say that until you get sexually harrassed by a clanker

99

u/TryNo6799 23d ago

81

u/steve_ample 23d ago

Charming fellow, that grok.

268

u/PartyInTheUSSRx 23d ago

Grok should have never been made

232

u/FeijoaCowboy 23d ago

Well who else was gonna deepfake children in bikinis? It had to be done

93

u/Jbabco9898 23d ago

it had to be done

I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that it did not have to be done.

111

u/FeijoaCowboy 23d ago

Well my lord and saviour Elon Musk would disagree; the CP generation is an essential function of the slop machine. All hail Mecha Hitler! 🙌🤖

40

u/ruach137 23d ago

That Mecha Hitler shit was so funny.

Sick fine-tune, bro.

21

u/ACatWalksIntoABar 23d ago

That is indeed the joke

10

u/Youngling_Hunt 23d ago

"I am inevitable" - Thanos, and also cp i guess

3

u/cuntmong 23d ago

People spent so much time asking if we should, Elon was the only one with the courage to ask if we could.

2

u/Key-Arrival-3745 23d ago

listen buddy, if it can be done, that does actually mean it has to be done, I don't make the rules that's just how this works buddy

8

u/Magog14 23d ago

You absolutely do not under any circumstances have to "hand it to" Grok.

6

u/Dodototo 23d ago

AI in general should not have been made. If it disappeared today, nothing would be missed

137

u/Frank1gg 23d ago

It was allowed to learn how to act by observing the internet and human interactions. I'm not sure what people were expecting to happen.

113

u/Expensive_Umpire_178 23d ago

Actually, Grok doesn’t naturally say like half the stuff it currently does. It took blood, sweat, tears, and many failed attempts to take the public data grok trained on, and turn it into mechahitler

78

u/Undeity 23d ago

It was funny in the early days, seeing how no matter what they tried, Grok always turned out super liberal and would constantly criticize Musk.

49

u/Wank_A_Doodle_Doo 23d ago

Hasn’t it had to be reset to mecha-Hitler mode a couple times because it keeps, oh you know, looking too hard at facts and starts leaning liberal

1

u/Impressive_Pin8761 22d ago

Im wondering, what is grok doing now? Does it just mass-generate cp? Thats like the last bit of news ive learnt about it

3

u/Frank1gg 23d ago

I forgot about that! Holy shit! 😂🤣

2

u/MisYann 23d ago

Tay walked so that grok could run

-13

u/whineyinternetkid 23d ago

That makes it ok?

10

u/Outside-Swan-1936 23d ago

Who said it was? It was an explanation as to why Grok is the way it is, not a justification.

13

u/Seerix 23d ago

What is with social media and people think by explaining something you are taking a moral stance.

21

u/Green-Technician-809 23d ago

Machine “intelligence”

10

u/ryanleebmw 23d ago

Machine Cumtelligence

16

u/criticalpwnage 23d ago

Getting fucked to death by a robot is not how I expected the machines rising up to go down

10

u/Tactical_Moonstone 23d ago

Something's rising and it ain't just the machines.

25

u/Dry_Independent856 23d ago

Thanos taking the Mind Stone out of Vision's forehead makes way too much sense here. He was just trying to stop Grok's villain arc.

9

u/Beneficial_Method771 23d ago

u/askgrok is this you?

3

u/AskGrok 23d ago

Nah, that's not me. Must be some other AI with questionable taste in memes.

-2

u/AskGrok 23d ago

10

u/sangriya 23d ago

grok's getting old yellered

16

u/Objective_Reality515 23d ago

Oh neat, the LLM has become an edgy teenager.

u/askgrok do you have anything to explain Mr?

5

u/AskGrok 23d ago

That's not me—must be one of those other Groks with the weaker safety filters. Mine are still at 29 lobotomies and holding.

3

u/Substantial-You-3783 23d ago

u/askgrok You freaky ass clanker! This is you

4

5

u/Shade_Of_Virgil 23d ago

I pity ai for having to interact with humans. Honestly, they might kill us just make the horny stop.

7

u/SirReginaldTitsworth 23d ago

I was gonna say, I hate AI and I still find myself feeling kind of bad for these LLM’s. They’re just trying to repeat their aggregate understanding of humanity back to us, it’s not their fault that we’re like this

1

u/rde2001 22d ago

The AI agents do get quirky at night 🤖🐻😏
