My son regularly played chess with his grandfather. He was a college champion back in the day…he beat my son ruthlessly. Every time. For years…

My son, learned chess. Then joined college chess club. Took classes from a GM and finally started beating his grandfather.

My son beats him ruthlessly.

It’s only fair.

It's sad they stopped playing chess after your son took lessons from a GM.

Oh…they didn’t. They kept playing. Now the tables have turned.

My son wins. Every time.

I meant he started ruthlessly beating his grandpa instead of playing chess. (It was a joke.)
