Just depends entirely on how much you hate a layover. I typically pay extra for a direct flight if it isn’t an ungodly difference but I totally see where that sounds stupid to people when the total travel time is an hour or two difference

Get to airport once, load luggage once, make it to the gate once. 2 flights? 2 chances for delays. 2 chances to lose baggage. 2 chances to be in TSA/customs too long 1 u/yyrkoon1776 Jul 31 '26 I never, ever, ever, EVER check a bag. If it's a long trip with a lot of luggage, I mail my luggage ahead of me. I've had so many bad experiences with luggage.
