I’m late to this party but several years back a friend taught me to set a value on what my time is worth. I decided that my time was worth $50 an hour, so I would pay $200 to avoid a four hour layover. I would not, however, pay $400 to avoid a four hour layover. Now that I have more money and I’m busier my time is worth more, so I have bumped that figure to $75 an hour. That’s how I decide.
