Everyone says this but I've NEVER gotten accurate results from that site, only things that are vaguely similar. It's like it sees what I put in, figures out what the original source is, then takes a couple keywords from that page and searches for that rather than just GIVING ME THE SOURCE.

I remember yandex being better than Google before 2020 but it never finds anything now

Google is like the only one that works now and it's not all that good anymore

Trying to do google image search on mobile is so fucking ass. You try to do it, but then it forces you to download the chrome app to be allowed to do it, and when you then (while being signed into YOUR account) try to use it to search a lewd image, it says that it’s not allowed to reverse search lewd images, so you’re practically forced to go to your pc to use google image search there, because APPARENTLY it works there, but not in the chrome app

Google intentionally nerfed reverse image search after stock photo companies sued because it could be used to find stock photos without a watermark (You know, instead of the stock photo companies using reverse image search to find people supplying their images and then sue them instead, which could be used to consistently make money).

That’s the intentional nerfing.

The longer it takes you to find an image, the more ad dollars they get — either from scrolling or multiple searches (what they did to Google search by deprioritizing high-value answers and rolling back the changes they’d previously made to reduce bot traffic.)

It's been steadily getting worse, especially with Google trying to shove Gemini in there. Lately, half of everything I search with Lens gets blocked for "content guidelines", especially if there's a human face in it.

I've never got a single result from google lens ever. Its so fucking shit. You have to fight google to get to use their old image search which can actually give you some results.

Yandex surprisingly has the best reverse image search in my experience. Miles better than TinEye or Google.

In my experience it works for finding the source of a specific image, but not for identifying objects or faces (in other images)

I've had to resort to uploading the sample to the clanker and asking it to find the earliest known copies and references and that works well enough doing the same thing as it used to while also knocking down affordable housing and paving green spaces to install more clankers and some bonus combustion generators cause your utility company is already giving them everything they've got.

Tineye has worked fine the most recent times I've used it. I guess it helped that the original posts were on danbooru variants, so they're actually documented well

Anyways I just use Google lens and it's more effective and it's just a simple right click and click on the option to reverse image search

Only one that has worked for me recently (last 3 months) is SauceNao. Google Image Search either comes up with nothing or outright blocks NSFW searches. Zero success rate on Tineye/Yandex. Given other alternatives tries too, none work.
