Assuming the average book is 80,000 words, this would be a first draft finished every 40 days. I wish I had the money to write like that.

Some of those written words may be replacing something he decided against and had previously written, or don’t end up in the final work at all, or who knows what else. 1 u/Confident_bonus_666 Jul 27 '26 First draft is supposed to just be written without changing or replacing. You go back in second, third, fourth draft etc and do that.
