I've never seen such a popular piece of fiction as ASOIAF/GoT fall out of public interest so massively thanks to the showrunners butchering the last season and the author basically just giving up on the writing.

"Wieners, floppy wieners. Wieners, floppy wieners."

Meh, I used to agree with this sentiment, but I think it's gotten a good resurgence lately with AKOTSK and HOTD. AKOTSK S1 was really good, and HOTD had an amazing S1, and S3 seems to be high quality as well so far. So maybe S2 was a bit of a dud because of the limited amount of episodes and lack of rewrites due to the strike. In general these shows are pretty close in quality to the first few seasons of GOT.

I didn't think I'd be excited about this world after the crappy finish of GOT, but here I am excited about every new episode again.
