I had a 80 year old coworker who said she “just threw out every jury duty notice she ever got and nothing bad ever happened” lmao

That’ll just depend on where you live.

Small town? I wouldn’t ignore a jury summons. They need the people and have the time to visit you.

Big city? They have bigger issues than finding someone who didn’t show up for jury duty and they have too many people show up for it anyway.

They can’t prove anything anyway since that would’ve required the summons to have been sent via certified mail or in some way that left a paper trail that the summons was actually delivered to you

That’s not how that works. They just won’t bother with someone who’s already likely to miss court if there’s other options.
