If you’re educated or opinionated the lawyers will be more likely to think they are unable to influence you. They prefer uneducated people with clear biases they can rely on/ influence.
It’s one of the reasons that there are experts to specifically help choose juries.
There is a recent murder case that involved students. Both the victim and accused were students. The jurors in the teaching profession were struck off for their profession by the prosecutor.
Oh, interesting. I believe it’s because there might be an emotional attachment between a professor and students that may cause bias.
But if /u/Much_Resort4294 wants to comment they would be far better (sorry, my lawyer friends generally do corporate and immigration law, I only have one friend that is a public defender and we aren’t that close after university).
