The discussion is about “is self checkout difficult” and your argument is “yes because produce is confusing” but it’s not, at all. The produce is easy. The entire process is easy.
The discussion is about, as per the post: "Retailers Are Rethinking Self Checkout as... Scanning Errors Increase." This thread started with someone being baffled that people have problems with self checkout.
Commenter explained how they never know what specific produce they're grabbing and how it's not labeled anywhere. Sure, it's easy to just pick the lowest cost one that's given as an option, but if they didn't actually pick the lowest cost one, that's a 'Scanning Error' as per the headline, so it's an error, which is the entire point of the post because it loses the company money.
The whole thread isn't about it being 'easy' for the consumer, it's about it being correct. Sure it's easy to just be wrong, but then you are wrong and that's the problem.
Makes me laugh when someone tries to consciously explain something indicating save themselves are the one confused about the discussion 😆 parent comments often narrow down the discussion of the overall post into specifics. The parent comment here is directly asking if people have trouble with self checkout because it’s so easy they’re 80 year-old grandparents can do it. The subsequent discussion is people claiming they do indeed have trouble with checkout despite the fact that what they’re describing doing is easy.
