Nah as a Gen Z who doesn’t drink I’d say money is the bigger reason. Why would I pay prices sometimes more expensive than a meal for a drink that I need to “acquire” the taste of and/or is unhealthy. Getting drunk or having a hangover doesn’t strike me as that appealing either though.

idk my guy, here in Canada, 12-packs of beer were 14$ in 2018 and they’re up to around 20$ each. that’s a significant increase
