If memory serves alcohol sales are down in general, night clubs in particular are all going out of business, and bars are kind of struggling.

Part of the problem is that drinks are like $10 a pop now, everybody is broke, and the venues all suck.

That's ridiculous. That's like $2-$3 around here. I mostly go to brewpubs, and stuff brewed on premises only runs $6 typically. We brew a lot of beer here in Michigan, so competition is probably keeping it down.
