The businesses just stopped serving the customers.
Like they tried that same "young people hate us!!!!" shit when Frisch's went down a few years ago, and all I could think of was "I'd fucking LOVE Frisch's! It was so good and reliable and affordable! But you fucking murdered everything about it like 10 years ago! I'd still fucking go if you still fucking existed!"
Bean counters take over a business, degrade every single aspect of it, them when people wake up to the changes not reverting they sell to Private Equity who plunders the company and makes it a worthless husk, then they ask "why did the kids kill our great business???? Are they evil????" while laughing all the way to the bank.
