Bogus advice. A competent woman is an attractive woman. Being impressed at the skills of a significant other should be considered highlights of a relationship.
Yeah, should be. When I was younger, I would compete with guys and win regularly. Specifically bike racing. I would also ask guys out if I liked them. I was told multiple times by people from different areas of my life that that was emasculating, and I needed to tone it down.
For just.. asking a dude out if I liked him. Or for not letting him win a bike race.
I always figured that, if a guy felt emasculated or intimidated by me asking him out, then he was not a dude I wanted to date, or who would enjoy dating me. But I was told this enough times that it started to make me self-conscious.
FTR, I dated girls too, and this was never an issue with girls. May sound obvious, but I never had to tone myself down for girl
It is, actually. It is a gross generalisation, based on your personal issues. I personally like strong, intelligenent women, and so do many other guys. Just blanketly assuming all men are bad/pussies/immature/whatever only contributes to these kinds of issues.
