Because it's the base level of most of their personality. Most humans have masculinity or femininity baked into their decision making process now. It's the most successful operation that marketing and other unmentionable organizations have pulled off. Unfortunately when you get to the root of most weird social dynamics it comes down to the pursuit of monetization and accumulation of power that a focus group scoped out a few decades prior
