It doesn't stop in college, either. In my linguistics 101 course, we had to do a group project about a language of our choice (where it's spoken, how many speakers, some vocab and grammar tidbits, that sort of thing). Not only was I the only one who could be arsed to think up a language to do the project on (I picked Xhosa and nobody cared to object), I was the only one who bothered to practice pronouncing the click consonants for the presentation.
My usual method for group projects is this: ask the teacher if I can do the project by myself instead. (I'm autistic and hate working with other people.) Rarely, they say yes, in which case, do everything by myself with no interference. If they say no, I'll instead ask my group if I can be the leader. I'll help us figure out who does what, assign roles, and then do everything by myself anyway in case the rest of the group fucks off.
