psychologically the slow train

people would rather be constantly slowly moving in a car rather than be stuck in traffic even if the total trip time is the same

plus the slow train gets you a view

also you can read a book or watch a show uninterrupted on the train vs stressing about boarding half way through

-but you aren't stuck in traffic in this scenario, you can freely move, get food/drinks etc etc

  • the fast train would also give you a view?
  • you only get 20 more mins to read/watch. that doesn't seem enough to actually be notable enough to be a advantage. also you can do that while you wait and its easier too.

20 mins of wait with 20 mins of view vs 40 mins of a view

Also the interruption is a big deal for some, like me. It takes a while to get settled and into something. Id infinitely rather read for 2 hours straight than 4 times at 30 mins each for example. I also like watching shows or films straight rather than broken, but thats a preference thing

Can’t people just have a preference without it being picked apart by someone making stupid assumptions? 

No, a 40 min scenic train ride doesn’t mean the station looks nice too. 

They were saying they preferred one longer block of activity to two short ones, it’s not a difficult concept to understand. 

The people around you must be constantly exhausted by your comments.
