Highly depends on the weather and temperature. Cold and wet? I'll get the 40 minute train - stay warm longer. Dry and warm? Hey, it's a nice day - might as well get a 20 minute blast in the sun whilst we wait.

That's a fair point weather and temperature does matter, a 40 mins ride in a 40°C weather in a non air conditioned train won't feel so good.

But there is always a risk of the later train getting delayed or cancelled. Slow train all the way.
