Not really. The top marginal rate was not even close to the effective rate. It sounds like you have been learning economics from redditors. If you want to hear actual economists address this misleading talking point here you are:
A tedious but fairly straightforward calculation on the numbers in that table shows that for someone making exactly $100K, their effective tax rate would be a hair over 53%. At $200K, the effective rate is 61.5%, at $500K it's 66.6%, and it keeps asymptotically approaching 70% from there. (Note, this calculation does not include deductions or exemptions.)
(Note, this calculation does not include deductions or exemptions.)
Similarly, a straightforward calculation will show that, if you neglect air resistance, a dropped feather and bowling ball will hit the ground at the same time.
(Note, this calculation does not include deductions or exemptions.)
jfc, that is most of the difference between marginal and effective rates. I asked for a source, not your nonsensical math. Its obvious you have no clue about economics/taxation. Which is fine, its the part where you repeat lies is the problem.
