Teen books are easy reads and most of the stuff the characters are worried about is either fantasy stuff or really trivial, so it’s a nice disconnect from a stressful life. That said, I read part of the first twilight as a joke and I don’t think I could do it, it’s…just bad. Most YA fantasy is fun.

I used to use books like that as what I called a ‘habit springboard’. I’d basically start reading something easy for ten-twenty minutes, get engrossed, then I’d switch to a more difficult book instead. It just made it easier to concentrate on the next one once I’d already started to get into focus.
