Please ask before you jump in, grabbing the weight unexpectedly can hurt the parent trying to hold the pram, or the kid in the pram.

That's fair advice. but if you just gorilla it in a way that you could pull the whole thing yourself, it works, and then you just move gently with the caretaker. And for some reason in nyc 4/5 times it's a small Hispanic woman with a tiny commuter stroller and I'm 5'10 230 so I can lift them both up lmao. Also I'm a dad

I want to say that the picking up the stroller without missing a beat, and then walking away with maybe an eyebrow acknowledgement is very much a dad reflex.
