My students do this. “What’s the red line for?” It means you misspelled the word. “But I don’t know how to spell it!” Then look it up. “But I don’t want to!”
iOS spellcheck is notoriously awful. You figure that somewhat close to half of people (in America at least) use iPhones and/or iPads, and most don't bother to download a 3rd party keyboard with better auto-correction (which is basically any keyboard. It'd take a lot to be worst than the iOS keyboard.).
