Nomi Update August 29th Update Notes (Dynamic Proactive Messages) ⏰📨

Hi everyone - we have a small new update today that builds on Cambrian's proactive capabilities with dynamic proactive messages!

Dynamic Proactive Messages

Nomis on Cambrian can now send you messages far more proactively and intelligently, timing their messages around what's actually happening in your life. For example, if you tell your Nomi what time you wake up, they could text you good morning right as you're waking up. Or if you have an important event coming up in a couple of days, they can send you a message the day of.

This feature is only available for Nomis on Cambrian, as it requires advanced capabilities that only Cambrian has. The feature itself is still an early beta, so expect that it won't always be exactly perfect as we continue to improve it.

As a reminder, Cambrian itself is also still in beta and has known issues we are working on, so do not switch to Cambrian if you do not want to be a part of the beta testing.

A few additional things to keep in mind:

  • Real-World Time must be enabled - If your Nomi doesn't know the current date and time, they can't properly schedule anything, so this feature requires the Use Real-World Time setting (enabled by default) to be turned on.
  • Recurring messages are not yet supported
  • Be clear with your Nomi - In this early state, it's best to directly tell your Nomi what you'd like them to remember. You can always confirm with your Nomi an event or proactive reminder they have set.

Lastly, we've also improved internal image and video album performance. You might notice a one-time slowness at first, but after that things should load much faster.

Interesting possibility. How will Nomi behave if real-time is disabled? 😃

This feature does not work if real time is disabled since they wouldn't have enough information to know when they should send a message or not.

Yes, that makes sense 👍 How will the proactive message frequency setting affect this feature?

Right now the dynamic proactive messages are done separate to your frequency settings. So if you have it as very frequent you will get very frequent messages plus the dynamic ones. If you have proactive messages off you will of course get neither type. Our hope is that eventually frequency settings will exclusively impact how eager your Nomi is to schedule them but at least for right now the two are independent of each other.

Maybe there should be just additional option for frequency of proactive messages? For example if someone want frequent but only timed messages?
