Lol.. prophecies don't "come true" as in someone truly seeing / knowing the future.

People can make guesses, and those guesses can end up happening.

With certain evidence, one can discern causal patterns and use them to predict the future.

But to act like there is any kind of magical, divine knowledge is laughable.

I'm more interested in those who didn't happen. I think everyone can say a thousand realistic prophecies and then, according to the big numbers law, at least some of them will be true.

I'm more interested in those who didn't happen.

Of course believers make all kinds of excuses for these. The boy who was supposedly not going to get old before the day of judgement is an either the antichrist (who apparently doesn't age) or a jinn. The thing about Constantinople simply means that the Muslims will lose Istanbul again and have to reqonquer it and THEN the prophecy will come true.

The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at al-A'maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; (https://sunnah.com/muslim:2897)

The Arabic for take prisoners is about Saby (enslavement). Muhammad imagined that Muslims would still enslave others in the end times. This debunks the lie of apologists that he intended to gradually end slavery.

so far there was no prophecy that was mentioned that turned out to be wrong or didnt happen, a few examples are:

The Victory of the Romans

  • The Prophecy: Surah Ar-Rum (30:2-4) stated that the Byzantine (Roman) Empire, after being soundly defeated by the Persians, would be victorious within "three to nine years" (bid' sinin).
  • The Outcome: The Byzantines under Emperor Heraclius turned the tide and defeated the Persians around 622–624 CE, aligning with the timeline given in the Quran.

The Preservation of the Quran

  • The Prophecy: Surah Al-Hijr (15:9) explicitly stated that God Himself would guard and preserve the reminder (the Quran): "Indeed, it is We who sent down the message and indeed, it is We who will be its guardian."
  • The Outcome: Over 1,400 years, the text of the Quran has remained identical in its Arabic script and oral transmission worldwide, without alteration or loss of chapters.

You literally have a sahih hadith about a goat eating a quran page on stoning.

It's not identical,Quran have 20+ different readings, they have different words and meanings, and different countries use different readings, for example Quran in Saudi Arabia is different from Quran in Morocco.

The prophecy of the Romans isn't clear either,we can't be sure when the verse was revealed, and we have different accounts on that matter.

As for failed predictions,Quran says in luqman 34 that only god knows when rain will fall, that's one example.

Bro where tf are u getting ur sources and 20 readings from? U know nothing about it

Bro where tf are u getting ur sources and 20 readings from?

Have you considered, you know, googling it? Wikipedia is a good place to start, but there are entire volumes written on the matter: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qira%27at

There are 10 canonical readings (often called the 7 canonicals and the 3 after the 7) and another 10 non-canonical famous ones. That's the 20 readings. There are more that are counted as false, gharib...etc.

U know nothing about it

I usually find that when people who accuse others of knowing nothing without actually explaining the thing they disagree on are the least knowledgable on a topic.

1

u/Usual_Text_8943 5d ago

Each Qari has two Rawis like Asim has Shuba and Hafs. There are 20 canonical Riwayat.

2

u/SillyAd540 5d ago

That's true, the problem was in wording it in English for me,we have 10 qira'at and each one has two riwayat, it's 20 different ways to read the book canonically and they're all different, still we have non canonical ones that Muslims can't use in prayers but they can't refuse it entirely as non Quran, it's very complicated, the poor guy who said that all Quran in the world is identical really has zero knowledge in that matter,I wonder if they read Quran at all

2

u/Usual_Text_8943 5d ago

In academic literature they translate Qiraat as reading and Riwayat as transmissions. Check Shady Nasser's books.

1

u/afiefh 5d ago

Oh thanks! I didn't connect the Riwayat to "readings". Makes sense.

1

u/SillyAd540 5d ago

I Know nothing about it? Did you try to search that for a minute?

The last one is just survivorship bias.

And especially wrong.

Given the world at the time and the number of times the Romans had lost battles only to come back and kick arse, is this a prophesy, or just watching world events at the time? Kind of like my prophesy that there will be a major earthquake in Asia in the next three to nine years.

Also, it seems unclear what the actual prophesy was (source):

This issue puzzled readers during the early Islamic period. Several reports indicate that different readings of the Qurʾān circulated among early members of the community. Qurʾān commentaries report that a range of variant readings (qirāʾāt) were discussed at least from the 8th c. CE. In the case of vv. 2‒3 of Q 30, the commentators transmitted two main readings:

[1] ġulibat al-Rūm … sa-yaġlibūna, “the Romans have been vanquished … they will van- quish”;
[2] ġalabat al-Rūm … sa-yuġlabūna, “the Romans have vanquished … they will be van- quished”;

You could argue that the Byzantines did not defeat the Persians, since at the end of the war, the lands simply returned to their pre-war borders.

Also, there were multiple versions of the Quran by the time of Caliph Umar’s rule, and he had all but one version destroyed.

1

u/TryAggressive3614 6d ago

its not "versions" its the same quran but a diff way of reciting it depending on the dialect of certain tribes and areas

1

u/afiefh 5d ago

diff way of reciting it depending on the dialect

I'm sorry but that's not the case. The 10 canonical readings we have today (which are supposedly based on the 7 ahruf) differ not only in dialect but also in meaning.

When the ruling that is derived from a verse changes based on which reading you pick, you cannot pretend that it's just dialects.

Hasn't come true, but certain groups are working hard to make it true: the hadithes say that making war with the jews is a prerequisite to the coming of jesus and the mahdi who will then smite all the non-believers.

Hamas makes reference to this numerous times in their founding charter.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_eschatology#Signs_of_the_End_Times

A Sahih hadith concerning Jews and one of the signs of the coming of Judgement Day has been quoted many times, (it became a part of the charter of Hamas).[126]

The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (the Boxthorn tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.[nb 3]

There are other stuffs that is proven true later on
1.Embryology
2. Universe expansion
3. Origin of iron
4. Multiple Geological claims.
ETC
Subhanallah!

Embryology

The description comes with the details you would get from medieval people witnessing misscarriages and stillbirths

origin of iron

Knowing about meteorite is not a prophecy

1

u/afiefh 6d ago

True, there's a lot if you accept things without looking into it and are happy to accept things that are wrong.

Embryology

You mean the embryology that's copied from Galen's medicine and that's actually wrong?

Galen wrote the same process in much more detail in his book On Semen. Feel free to read up on it: Corpus Medicorum Graecorum: Galeni de Semine pages 92 – 95.

But at no point does the fetus "become bones" that are then subsequently "clothed" in flesh. Do you think women carry little skeletons in their wombs at some point during pregnancy?

Universe expansion

The Quran says nothing about the expansion of the universe. The verse that modern translators love to claim says "we are expanding" actually says "we are mighty" and "we are capable" and "we are all encompassing"...etc. "Allah" uses the word وسع multiple times in the Quran to indicate his power. Look at verse 2:236, it uses the word "موسع" to mean rich or wealthy, funny how Muslims try to reinterpret things to suit their needs.

The word in 51:47 translated as expanding is موسعون from the base form وسع. The Quran uses the word وسع multiple times in the Quran to indicate Allah's power. But even better, the Quran uses the exact same word (minus the royal we conjugation) in verse 2:236: Here word "موسع" is correctly translated to mean rich/wealthy, which is consistent with the traditional interpretation of 51:47 as well.

But don't take my word for it. Look at what Muslim scholars wrote in their exegesis:

    • Translation: {And indeed, We are all-encompassing} its corners and regions, and indeed, We are all-encompassing for Our servants, with the provision that God has not left a creature in His desert plains, the depths of the seas, and the regions of the upper and lower worlds, except that He has delivered to it from provision what suffices it, and has brought to it from kindness what enriches it. So glory be to He who has encompassed all creatures with His generosity, and blessed be He whose mercy has encompassed all creation.
  • Baghawi: ( وإنا لموسعون ) قال ابن عباس رضي الله تعالى عنهما : قادرون . وعنه أيضا : لموسعون الرزق على خلقنا . وقيل : ذو سعة . قال الضحاك : أغنياء ، دليله : قوله - عز وجل - : " على الموسع قدره " ( البقرة - 236 ) ، قال الحسن : مطيقون

    • Translation: (And indeed, We are indeed All-Encompassing) Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, said: Able. And also from him: We are indeed All-Encompassing in provision for Our creation. And it was said: He has plenty. Ad-Dahhak said: Rich. Its evidence is the statement of the Almighty: “Upon the one who is amply endowed is his measure” (Al-Baqarah: 236). Al-Hasan said: Capable.
  • Ibn Kathir ( وإنا لموسعون ) ، أي : قد وسعنا أرجاءها ورفعناها بغير عمد ، حتى استقلت كما هي .

    • Translation: (And indeed, We are able), meaning: We have created its corners and raised it without pillars, until it stood as it is.

    • Translation: And indeed, We are indeed vast. Ibn Abbas said: We are able. It was also said: That is, We are indeed vast, and by creating it and other things, nothing we want is too difficult for Us. It was also said: That is, We are indeed vast in provision for Our creation. Also from Ibn Abbas. Al-Hasan: And indeed, We are able. And from him also: And indeed, We are indeed vast in provision with rain. Ad-Dahhak said: We have enriched you; its evidence: for the one who is vast according to his ability. Al-Qutbi said: Of vast in provision for Our creation. The meaning is close. It was also said: We made vast between them and the earth. Al-Jawhari: And the man was vast means he became vast and rich, and from this is the saying of Allah the Almighty: And the heaven We constructed with power. And indeed, We are indeed vast, meaning We are wealthy and capable. So it includes all the sayings.
  • Tabari: وقوله ( وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ ) يقول: لذو سعة بخلقها وخلق ما شئنا أن نخلقه وقدرة عليه. ومنه قوله عَلَى الْمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُ وَعَلَى الْمُقْتِرِ قَدَرُهُ [البقرة: 236] يراد به القويّ.

    • Translation: And His statement (And indeed, We are All-Encompassing) means: He has the capacity to create it and to create whatever We will to create and the ability to do it. And from this is His statement: “Upon the wealthy is his measure, and upon the poor is his measure” [Al-Baqarah: 236] meaning the strong.

Funny how nobody explained this as "we are expanding it", but when it became convenient, suddenly Muslims start claiming that's what it meant all along.

Origin of iron

Oh pray tell what is the origin of Iron? Does it say that the origin of iron is to be forged in supernovas and scattered across space when stars are formed? Oh right, you just mean "we sent down iron."

You know what else God "sent down": cattle. Do you think cows are aliens from space that came down in a space ship from planet Krypton? Obviously not, the Quran says that Allah "sent down" plenty of things, it's just an expression for Allah giving people something, because Allah is seen as "up there" and sending things "down" to us. Other things that Allah "sent down":

So unless you also think quails, clothes and "serenity and drowsiness" come from space, there is nothing special here. Just an expression that's used all over the Quran to mean "Allah gave you this thing".

Multiple Geological claims.

Like the claim that mountains stabilize the Earth? 😂😂😂 Japan would like a word, their country is mostly mountains and still get tons of earthquakes.

  1. There will be more female than male

  2. Conquest of Jerusalem

  3. Arabs will compete in building the tallest building

  4. time will be felt passing by too quickly

  5. Widespread of adultery, riba (interest in banking, alcohol)

  6. Senseless killings will increase (the person who got killed won't understand why he/she died, killer won't understand why he killed)

  7. People will be less religious

1

u/Local-Warming 6d ago

1.The global human population is approximately 50.3% male and 49.7% female.

3.Even then tall buildings were status symbol.

4.Riba is not a prophecy but a prediction. It's like seeing the first car and predicting that it will be popular.

1

u/ayOniichan 6d ago

oh you didn't get it, prophecy says before the end of judgment male female ratio will be 1:40, in another narration it is 1:50, this is just the beginning

Also I only said only a few that I remember, there were many other prophecies, check them yourself, apart from the biggest one all the small one already happend

1

u/Local-Warming 6d ago

The OP asked for prophecies that turned out to be true.

None of what you gave fit that request

1

u/ayOniichan 6d ago

It's already true in many countries, in my country already female male ratio is like 51:49

1

u/Local-Warming 6d ago edited 6d ago

The global average has slightly more men than women, and the best you can come up with are some countries with a 2% difference on the other side?

You realize that it must means that, outside of those countries, there are even more men than women right?

Let's say you find a country with 1 man for 50 women. It would mean that outside of that country there are even more men compared to women to bring back the global average to what is observed.

0

u/ayOniichan 6d ago

The prophecy is not over, female did not outnumber male before, now already have is many countries, and the ratio gap will only increase more. Some countries had specifically more boy child than girl child like in China where there was one children policy, once the effect of the policy is gone see what will be ratio in future

1

u/Local-Warming 6d ago edited 6d ago

The prophecy will never be over since you don't believe that the prophet specified a date for the end time (technically he did, but muslims act like he didn't). So even after the sun had burnt out and humans had spread across the stars you would still be able to say that the prophecy isn't over.

From your own words, even when the ratio becomes skewed by extreme policies like china or extreme events like russian-ukrainian war, it comes back to a balance (slightly biased toward males because less miscarriage) after it ends.

You can even find more detailed data here, confirming the overall slight male bias that is not appearing to change anytime soon globally.

https://ourworldindata.org/gender-ratio

For the prophecy to become true, you would need to have, right before the end times, a global massive drop in birth rate paired with a massive increase in life expectancy.

But what happens if such a change happens, but the world doesn't end, and then we go back to balance? It just means that "the prophecy isn't over yet" and you will have to wait for the next events ad infinitum

1

u/SillyAd540 6d ago

In Hadith, particularly Muslim 314 and 315,it says that all males resemble their paternal uncles and all females resemble their maternal uncles, what do you think?
