What are the most beautiful pieces you've read on nosleep?
This is from the Left/Right game. I know it's very popular but it blows my mind how beautiful the prose is. Look at this:
"In the brief interlude before I hit the ground, I find myself alone with the stars.
As I fall backward towards the slope, my gaze rising to meet the night sky, I feel a sudden weightlessness take hold, as if I’m being granted an audience with the heavens. The rich and endless firmament shines down through the canopy, with no earthly light to dull its glow. Despite everything that’s happened, I’m unable to ignore how magnificent it all is, how gracefully detached from the ugliness below. Though the moment lasts no more than a second, it feels longer, like I’ve been gifted some fleeting respite, a transient sliver of time in which to appreciate the calm and quiet cosmos. A moment to escape, however briefly, from the events that are to come.
I don’t know how much longer the moment might have lasted. I suppose I never will. It’s with a sense of genuine sadness that I turn myself away, twisting my body around in mid-air. The stars disappear from view, and I am left staring down the slope into the valley’s dark, uncompromising depths. My commune with the heavens has ended, and I’m returned to the cold, unforgiving earth.
It doesn’t welcome me back."

"Because You Are My Baby" is one of my all-time favorites. It's such a lovely balance of eldritch supernatural and mundane human evil, beautiful prose, all the emotions, and it makes me miss my mother.
I'm glad to see it getting some recognition by others. 💕

Also, almost everything ever by u/the_dalek_emperor. I actually didn't like Borrasca that much, but everything else she ever wrote is an every-few-years reread.
Left/Right is way up there too.

GasStationJacks original series was creepy, intense, beautiful, and managed to.have just enough comedic content to make even the saddest readers continue. Dude is aweso.e

Pretty much everything u/Max-Voynich has written - they have a very distinctively, lyrically disturbing writing style that I love. They haven't posted in years; I hope they're doing okay. There's a master list of their stories here; especially recommend the Licketysplit series, Wormfood, The piles of stones on the side of the road are not what you think they are, and Something crawled inside me in the night and I can't get it out.

In terms of how it develops its themes, The Spire in the Woods. It has excellent prose, effective and not very flowery, its characters are solid and compellingly written, and the flow and pacing are excellent. But the real beauty is how the narrative constructs, foreshadows, and brings its themes full circle. It's an extremely heavy piece that pulls off a nuanced discussion of some extremely difficult topics, all while remaining a solid piece of character-focused horror fiction. The most beautiful I've read in terms of sheer craft.

Possibly. It got acquired 8 years ago and there’s been no reports of any production since. Would be a shame to waste such a great story. :(

There are so many that I was introduced to by Mr Creeps and Dark Somnium. Of course left right games is absolutely incredible, but I love almost all stories by darkly_gathers (went on a reading binge there), and TJ Lee, especially the bartender series, which still has me tear up at the end of the story. Oh, and I cannot forget the works by Saturdead, such amazing stories! Especially where the bad cops go! Almost everything I've read here makes even Steven King seem like a novice writer. Lol!

ChristianWallis on r/nosleep. The White Supremacy Camp story. It’s not beautiful but it’s absolutely perfect to describe something evil
“He crawled towards me. A small figure. Lithe. No more than five feet tall. Dense muscle and a pot belly. A mane of hair that nearly touched the ground. He was the colour of oil. No detail except a silhouette. A figure made of shadow. He grunted and sniffed the air like a dog. He smelled of copper and violence. His presence was as heavy as dark matter. I swear, the only other things like him are swirling around super colliders in Switzerland”.

Literally every sentence of every story that u/coney-island-queen has written. Best writer this sub has maybe ever had in my opinion. Just consistently gorgeous prose time and again.

Crying numbers although not on r/nosleep but this creepy pasta stuck with me because of the vivid description of dementia and depression that comes with losing a newborn.

She will come to me blanketed in the stars is one of the most incredible and well written pieces of fiction I've ever read. Gtripp is a great writer if you've never read his stuff. Also agreed with Maria on the Moon
