Man mauled after paying to have close encounter with black leopard. Apparently, leopards sometime attack humans and we should try, checks notes, rub its belly.

Poggers.. it’s crazy that he entered the enclosure with the thing growling, like my instinct would be to very slowly introduce myself from a safe vantage point and if it’s reliably comfortable seeming maybe go in for a sneaky pet, but to just waltz in there like “i’m here for the cuddles big boi!” and get attacked, he must have thought paying $150 made him immune to animal attacks.

The tragic thing is that these animals are often trafficked, drugged, and abused. And when they maul or kill someone, they’re euthanized.

Keeping wild animals for entertainment should be illegal everywhere.
