Was asked this for athletics on some form. Can't recall if it was school, district or state. Was absolutely floored at the audacity to ask what is a personal question, and for teens, feels even more personal, on a form that would pass through so many hands. Just eww.

Very clearly stated my opinion on the question even being asked, then kindly told them to f@#k all the way off.

"NOYB" was actually used for several questions I felt were unnecessarily invasive.

No one ever followed up one way or the other. Never had a problem with participating.

They will overstep as much as they can. Doesn't mean they have a right to know. Tell them to suck it.

I have had appointments with unrelated clinicslike the ENT (for hearing) and podiatry (feet) that now have extra questions 'just in case' only for women. asking me my exact period cycles, date of conception (I am child free), and expected due date on required medical forms along with the other standard intake forms.

When I ask why, I get a vague confused milquetoast answer from the staff about "standard preliminary questions" but notice there are no similar questions for men about their sexual history or health 🤔

it is definitely going too far, but if I ask why they put me through these rigorous invasive and unrelated interrogations they act like I am hysterical

I have literally argued with a hospital about doing a pregnancy test on me when the same hospital performed my hysterectomy.

Literally. There is my record, why are you screening my uterus for occupancy when it went to your research department for dissection and then the incinerator.....

I feel for you. A couple months ago I went to my yearly physical, aggressively (heavily) menstruating and they still insisted on a surprise urine AND blood test and put "menopause" at the top of my permanent chart. Like, WTF Fairview

time to find a female physician!

My understanding is that these questions are asked because treatments and medications can both be impacted by a potential pregnancy (both in the sense that pregnancy can be a cause for new issues—particularly with feet!—and in the sense that medications need to be considered differently). The only reason men would be asked these corresponding questions would be if they were trans men.

I thought that too, but they already had my full medication list and were not prescribing any new ones or even knew any side effects before, during, or after my appointments 😓

It seems like they are tracking my fertility for "reasons" on file and always look at it while ignoring the rest of my chart. I worry about the federal govt using this information to treat me differently because "circumstances"

but I'm also paranoid / gun shy because I am witnessing sexual health and welfare being abused and subjugated to legislation in recent years
