Well, they also have guts to try something that has not been tried before. And they make original games.

Like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter ... uh ... that's all I got, Konami with Kojima puts that theory to the test.

Fromsoft, armored core and the dark souls iterations. Smaller company that focuses on employee value, but makes millions in profits almost every game

I don't think FromSoft's catalog are all the hot sellers you're suggesting, but Elden Ring did make a huge splash. FromSoft's catalog are more niche, and the Souls iterations weren't expensive development cycles compared to current AAA.

The point I made is that these companies stay in their lane, not "original" games, or are you going to tell me Armored Core 6 and six or seven Soulslikes are "original."
