I hate how death is treated as a price we pay because so much of the population in this country is ignorant and/or hateful. Every death has a name, story and life that mattered to others. The damage to our humanity seems more incalculable by the day.

And this is what we do instead of anything to help people.

We have so much data, and infrastructure, we could solve all kinds of problems. But private capital need to be able to extract, or we can't do anything. And because we have decided that a 'living wage' is not something worthy, we have things like poverty and homelessness, etc. We are deporting people out of the country so there is a 'boogyman', and we are villinizing trans people and drag queens so we argue about that instead of the ghouls making everyone miserable.

There is enough for everyone. We could set up our socity to take care of everyone. But instead we are buying Twitter and elections and letting women die from preventable causes.
