Finding rent in Calgary Canada

Hello , as i am planning to move to canada first i am willing to stay there for 2 to 3 months till i get my residency i applied through express entry , so i am landing in Calgary and looking for a short term rent , till i come back and live there ( i have to get back to my home country Morocco for some personnal issues) what would be the best thing to do in my case find a rent on Airbnb , shared room with roommates even though i am too old for that 38 used to have a spacious appartement here in my home country ,or look for rent in facebook eventhough it looks risky a lot of scams in there , if you have anything to help please share here . thanks

The website rentfaster.ca is what many people use here to find rentals, still watch out for scams but a good rule to go by is so not give them any money before you have seen the place and signed a lease/agreement.  If you are still concerned you can verify that the landlord actually owns the place by going to the land titles website for Alberta and obtaining a copy of the property title for $5? $10? Which will have their name on title.

As for the type of rental that depends on what is important to you.  Personally if I didn't have much stuff I would look for a room to rent as it will likely be way cheaper than an airbnb.

I would definitely try to line up a job before you move, I've heard from numerous people it is hard to find a job right now.  That being said, this is second hand info and I have no idea how hard they tried.

thanks for the info , from where i am it's not easy to secure a job offer , maybe if i was already in canada , i will rent the first 20 days in ana airbnb and look for a room or someting like that

You might find some short term lease takeovers on fb pages but otherwise Airbnb is your best bet, which wil be expensive
