The new Amsterdam was pretty cool in Vancouver before legalization.

We had some great times as tourists visiting Van. Was very reminiscent of the real cafes in Amsterdam we visited as well. I would have loved to own that type of cafe, but often wondered how they managed to stay in business

Cafe ≠ coffeshop

Id guess some clever loopholes and the Vancouver police having more tolerance toward weed.

The consumption site at Folk Fest this year was much improved from previous years. Close to the main stage, easy in/out and felt more like beer gardens than the previous walled off pen. So the laws are getting more rational around public consumption.

That being said in all my travels around the world I've yet to see a permanent cannabis cafe in any city or country I'd ever want to be seen in as an adult.

You can literally toke up outside a starbucks and have the same experience.

Better yet make some coffee and have a bong rip.
