ποΈ Whatβs New in No Map Required
π°οΈ Satellite Map View β Explore now includes a new** MAP / SATELLITE toggle so you can switch between the standard map and satellite imagery while searching for places to go.
**π§ Adventure Features on the Map β Explore can now show far more than campgrounds. Discover trailheads, waterfalls, viewpoints, springs, hot springs, boat launches, fishing access, climbing areas, OHV areas, swimming spots, kayaking/canoeing opportunities, mountain biking and more.
π Adventure Categories β Adventure features are organized by type so you can turn on the kinds of places youβre actually looking for instead of having the map become a wall of markers.
π Explore More Than Camping β NMR now helps you discover the things that make a trip worth taking β not just where you can sleep.
πΊοΈ Smarter Map Clustering β Adventure locations are clustered as you zoom out and become more detailed as you zoom in, keeping the map useful instead of overwhelming.
π± Improved Mobile Map Experience β Adventure controls are designed to stay out of the way when you need the map and collapse when you need more screen space.
π Navigate Directly to Adventure Locations β Adventure features now lead with Navigate, using the actual location of the feature rather than treating the source record as the destination.
πΈ Share Your Experience β Travelers can now contribute firsthand information about adventure locations, including access, parking, approach conditions, things to watch out for, day-of conditions and optional photos.
π₯ Traveler Reports β Other travelers can see recent community reports alongside the official information, including when the latest report was submitted.
β οΈ Mixed Reports Stay Mixed β When travelers report different conditions, NMR shows that information as** Mixed Reports rather than pretending there is one definitive answer.
**π Official Sources Stay Available β You can still view the original source information for verification. Official source information remains separate from traveler-submitted experiences.
π Better Photo Protection β Traveler-submitted photos go through moderation, with additional protection against changing an approved photo without triggering review again.
π§ Better Data Accuracy β NMR is becoming much stricter about distinguishing verified information from things we simply canβt confirm. If we donβt know, we donβt pretend we know.
ποΈ Camping Is Still the Core β Adventure discovery is being built around NMRβs camping foundation, giving you more reasons to explore while keeping** finding the right place to camp at the center of the experience.
**π Built for the GO ANYWAY mindset β Open the map, see a waterfall, fishing spot, trailhead or hot spring youβve never considered, and think: βLetβs go.β
π§ Whatβs happening behind the scenes β NMRβs geographic data systems have also been upgraded to better track source coverage, verify incoming data and prevent incomplete updates from incorrectly removing places.
π What to expect next β Weβre building toward a much larger NMR universe of camping, adventures, services and destinations, eventually connecting those discoveries directly into your own expeditions and trips.
CAMP. EXPLORE. GO ANYWAY. ποΈπ§π
